CODES OF CONDUCT  is a continuing body of work, exploring themes of war, surveillance, control and propaganda.

Mongey is particularly interested in how we view these subjects through the media. Never has this been more pertinent than at this particular juncture in history, and society.

This body of work comprises a selection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, and mixed media, influenced by living and working as an Irish artist in the middle east for several years. The exhibition is an investigation into how people can be shaped and manipulated. Mongey explores social conditioning, often employing humour in place of emotion and pathos, in regards to childhood play, cultural references, and propaganda.

Mongey’s work has met with considerable success in the Middle East where his artistry has been presented to HH Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the leader of the United Arab Emirates.

CODES OF CONDUCT debuted at the prestigious Cuadro Fine Art Gallery in Dubai.

The solo exhibition met with acclaim, with many pieces being acquired by prestigious clients including Ramin Salsali (collector, art patron and founder of the Salsali Private Museum, Dubai), Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (winner of two Oscars, six Emmy Awards and the government of Pakistan’s second-highest civilian honour for her film work exploring women’s rights) and Ambika Hinduja, founder and creative director of Impeccable Imagination, a contemporary art and design firm based in Dubai and Mumbai.

We look forward to your visit to Gallery Asna, for what promises to be an exceptional and thought-provoking body of work.
