CODES OF CONDUCT

Gallery Asna is delighted to present Codes of Conduct, a solo exhibition by Alan Mongey. The exhibition opens on Saturday, September 3rd at 5.30pm  and runs until Saturday, September 24th.

Alan Mongey

CODES OF CONDUCT  is a continuing body of work, exploring themes of war, surveillance, control and propaganda.

Mongey is particularly interested in how we view these subjects through the media. Never has this been more pertinent than at this particular juncture in history, and society.

This body of work comprises a selection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, and mixed media, influenced by living and working as an Irish artist in the middle east for several years. The exhibition is an investigation into how people can be shaped and manipulated. Mongey explores social conditioning, often employing humour in place of emotion and pathos, in regards to childhood play, cultural references, and propaganda.
