Although 2015 was the first year of the Clonakilty Organic Arts Festival, it’s history is rooted deep within the community of Clonakilty, who have been performing and exhibiting the different elements of this diverse and unique festival for many years. There has always been a love of the visual coupled with the love of the community in Clonakilty. From the “Craic na Coillte” events of the late eighties, to the many street festivals such as the Busking Festival and the “Olde Time Fayre”, Clonakilty has been an enthusiastic patron of the arts for decades. Community groups such as Artists’ Collectives as well as The Flower Club and the Tidy Towns, have kept the artistic integrity of Clonakilty alive. All of this led to the inevitable foundation of the Clonakilty Community Arts Centre in 2012, situated at Asna Square.
The Clon Arts Festival committee worked very hard in 2015 putting together an exciting programme. We would like to thank everyone in Clonakilty for the tremendous response and support for this festival!
